So Last Year is a Christian Indie/Pop-Punk band from Rochester NY that explore themes like faith, love, loss, reaching dreams, dealing with defeat and finding out who we are in God's plan. The band believes that each life has value and purpose, and they take part of every show to remind every audience member that they are loved and here for a reason.
The band began in 2013, as a side project of Logan Van Epps. With the eventual addition of some talented individuals (currently Jason Campbell, Mitch VanDenBerge, Tom Caster and Jay Wolff) the vision was brought to life onstage! Over the past 6 years, they have played over 100 shows locally and out-of-town, released 2 full length albums, 2 music videos, performed in Chicago, Nashville, Boston and NYC and everywhere in between, playing in everything from large rock venues, basements, churches, community spaces, living rooms, attics, barns and even fairground race tracks, and have shared the stage with many incredible local and national artists including Emery, As Cities Burn, Hawthorne Heights, Big D and the Kids Table, Say We Can Fly and Jason Lancaster.
So Last Year describes themselves as vibrant Indie/Pop Rock with a little bit of piano and a lot of soul. The band is a rock and roll powerhouse, bringing a high-energy performance to every show! They love to incorporate other sounds to make it an unforgettable experience, using synth, keyboard, organ, cowbell, and tambourine. They always bring with them a passion for live music, and a heart that truly loves people and the music they play.
